Well this is my first ever blog, and I'm actually quite excited about it. It's required for my Rhetoric and Writing class, but i think this will be very interesting to have.
College means something different to different people and I have no clue what it meant to some people but for me college meant challenging myself and having the opportunity to learn as much as I can. I absolutely love attaining more knowledge and discovering new facts about something that I am interested in! It's extremely nerdy of me but I really don't care! I absolutely love it and i can't wait for classes to start so i can jump in a soak it all up!
I know everyone was really freaked out about the hurricane but it was so small, I think we only got hit by the edges. Also the way hurricanes work is that they rely on the warm temperature of the body of water they are forming over in order to give them their power. Now if any of you have been swimming up here in New England you know that we rarely get hurricanes because the water is so freaking cold even in the summer! So the hurricane just slowly lost it's momentum as it moved up the coast, which the meteorologist showed by lowering it's level from a 2 to a 1, and now it is simply a tropical storm depression. So fear not! The weather was not nearly as bad as suspected. There may have been some flooding, and some power outages in Rhode Island (my home state) and some trees down in the states to the south, but here in Hartford we were pretty safe! Yay! Although I am wishing the storm was way more intense, I absolutely love storms, they look so cool! The lightning, thunder and the clouds and rain! It's amazing! Hoping that we get an epic storm at some point this semester!
Enjoying Hawk Hall, and hoping that the weather lightens up and I can go check out my classrooms!
